So, I have set up a few forum boards for the main RPG of this site. The plot is still in the works but I have come up with some ideas since last. For now, there is to be no posting in there until further notice. I'll be at work on it and as soon as it is completed and I have the chance, everything is will be set up properly. Thank you all. Smile

The Secret Oasis Empty
PostSubject: The Secret Oasis   The Secret Oasis Icon_minitimeMon Jan 26, 2009 3:39 pm

THE PLOT

The Oasis was peaceful. Calm; a sight of beautiful serenity, many entities living in harmony.
And so it had been for years.

Rumours spread like wildfire. The existance of other civilizations - tears in the fabric of this world - other people? Was this even possible?

Aislinn had the power - the gift of creating bridges to other worlds. Worlds with people similar to ourselves, and world with severe differences. But her brother also has the same power, and a 'better' idea of how these other worlds should be run. He created numerous bridges - holes, inbetween worlds - and gathered those who were mindless enough to fight for him. All that was light turned to dark; calm to chaos; day to night.

Aislinn stumbled upon a band of travellers, so different in character, gathered together, alone. They'd come through a portal, and bumped into one another just as she'd found them. Each had a similar story: the nature of a world unbalanced, the dark ones of each realm suddenly disappearing, abandoning whichever fight was being fought and simply vanishing. In one case - the sun had been blotted out, simply erased by a growing blackness that was devoid of all life.
She knew the answer... who else could it be? Erebus had had too many ideas of superiority, gotten too carried away with his power; his progress in mind manipulation was.. disturbing. Erebus had no love for anyone but himself, for he found love to time comsuming and had little patience, if any. His manner was of swift decisiveness, but his air made even the most arrogant a man feel inferior. He never forced anyone: he changed the way they thought, twisted them to suit him; altering them irreversably.

After finding out about his sister's - the Priestesses's - intentions, he set out after her. By her death, he would gain her strength, her power, her magic. Her ability, and everything she was and everything she had. She couldn't overpower him; he'd crush her before she'd thought about it. Instead he played with her head, caused pain she couldn't see the cause of, making her go mad with the pain in the process. The dagger her delivered to her heart ended her sufferering, in part - her mind no longer throbbed with the agony he had caused.

Erebus held his sister as she fell, whispering in her ear every event she'd tried to prevent, but now couldn't. Everything she thought she'd failed to protect. There was nothing that could stop him now. Except the impossible - he laughed - but what were the chances of that?

Apparently, greater than he thought. At the other side of the Oasis, there was a gasp. Hiromi fell to her knees, struggling to find air, coughing as she inhaled more than she was counting on. After her breathing eased, memories came to her - those of her mother. Come to her it did, some in waves, some in little clouds of thought.

Then the full weight of what had happened hit her: her mother's death. The blow would've knocked her off her feet had she been standing; everything overwhelmed her. Images flased before her eyes; emotion and adrenaline coursed through her, racing to see which would unbalance her first. Her own emotions battled against those Aislinn had felt, and the edge of her mind was prodded and poked by the power her mother had left to her. Aerial visions of the oasis came to her, brightly coloured and vivid, as though she were a bird. Water snaked through the green, reflecting the sun in places, utterly breathtaking.

The she has other images - images of a thin shield around the Oasis; not to keep anything out, but to keep the portals inside - the Oasis was the focal point for the bridges. She watched the swirling mist of the shield like entity, alive in its own sense, bewitched by the changing colours and ever-moving patterns. Beneath her, there was movement. She watched as someone - she couldn't see their face - dived from a gap in the air into the broad expanse of water. Gasping for air, they rose to the surface. Her uncle quickly reached the bank, wringing out the water from his dark cloak. His stride was long and purposeful, and even from the height she was viewing him from he looked smug. The image of the Oasis faded as swiftly as it had come, to be replaced with faces: cold, but not unpleasant; the travellers. Other worldly people that looked perfectly ordinary. She watched them, trying in vain to memorize them. Then she heard whispers.

- Find them.

Her mother's last words. Once again gaspng for air she couldn't reach, she found she felt what was around her again - her forehead pressed to the cool, hard ground; her hands clawing at the sand and pebbles; the snuffling sound of some small animal; the buzzing of insignificant insects. After a few minutes her breathing eased slightly, she looked up.

There they were. The people she'd seen. All of them - staring down at her, somewhat coldly, some seemingly afraid of her. She watched them, puzzled by their sudden appearance, ever so slightly intimidated by their imposing expressions, and slightly awestruck at their similarity to everyone she'd seen in her own world. Standing with the aid of the dry section of the rockface, she faced them with as much dignity as she could muster. She held her head erect, and drew another shaky breath.

‘I am Hiromi. I am here to help you and avenge my mother.’
